About Sarah Ripley, Founder & Vermont Interior Designer
Interior design is more than space planning and obsessing over the details, (although that is a part I am particularly driven by). It’s about creating environments that suggest a mood, using the layout, finishes and furnishings to purposefully balance function with beauty. I pair intuitive design choices with your intention for the space, drawing up the concepts, creating detailed renderings, overseeing the construction and putting together the final look — one that should be collectively eye-catching and cohesive.
If we go back to the beginning, my roots are twofold. I was born in Philadelphia with a craving for adventure, moving to the mountains of Colorado where I began my interior design career. Having previously lived in Vermont, I eventually found myself drawn back to its serenity, at home with the small town feel and connection to the outdoors. Long winters, open fields and farmlands, solitary hikes with my dogs, the sound of nature that is all encompassing — this life is introspective, striking and explorative. There is no single aesthetic I aspire to create, but rather, an overall direction that is interesting, expressive and dynamic. Something that helps every individual in its space aspire to live a life that is uniquely their own.
